Guess what Alyssa did today!
she rolled from her back to her belly for the first time it was soo cute!
I didnt think they were able to do this for awhile yet!? she is only 7.5 weeks old. is this normal??
Im afraid she will do it at night when she is sleeping though? how do you prevent that??

Hooray! Go Alyssa!
Actually Christopher did it right around the same time. Unfortunately, when it comes to doing it at night, there's no way really to prevent it. Christopher was much more comfortable sleeping on his belly, so while I was paranoid the first few weeks, I let him. I just checked on him a whole lot more

Re: Guess what Alyssa did today!
Oh boy, so glad you just posted this...Ava's been doing it for like 2 weeks now, and last night she did it in her sleep, however, she slept the ENTIRE night! SEVEN STRAIGHT HOURS! I kept putting her on her side (she'd NEVER stay on her back), and she kept rolling. I figure it's not so bad, though becuase she can lift her head really high and turn it from side to side. Can Alyssa do that? If so, then she's pretty safe even if she rolls at night.

Re: Guess what Alyssa did today!
Yeah, but I actually slept LESS because I was so freaked out, I kept jumping out of bed to check on her I think she's ok if she can lift her head. I'd maybe check on her a few extra times for now (at least so you have peace of mind), and then you'll be able to tell if she's sleeping safely or not.

Re: Guess what Alyssa did today!
OMG Dawn,
That was quick!!!!
Alyssa has been holding her head up since 2 weeks old also, she was turning on her side since 2 days old, but just turned completely on her belly the past week or so.
ETA: I was worried about her turning over too, then i saw her pick up her head in her sleep while laying on her belly and she turned it so she could sleep on the other cheek. That made me feel a lot better knowing that she did that in her sleep. My biggest fear was that she would put her face down.
