Does anyone have any cute Halloweem dessert ideas?
DH and I are going to a Halloween party on Saturday night and I wanted to bring a cute Halloweeney dessert. It's an adult party if that makes a difference. Does anyone have any ideas!?

I like to go simple-
-cupcakes with orange frosting and candy corn on top.
-candied apples
--marshmallow frankenstein's (just dip the top of the marshmallow "head" in dark chocolate and using frosting make a face.
-someone posted on here the other day about meringue ghosts that were really cute
-there are a lot more halloween cupcake ideas. of you do a google image search of "halloween cupcakes" you can find a lot. I like the night before christmas ones. Black cupcake, white frosting, two black eyes using any type of black candy or licorice and then drawing on the mouth.
-you can also do orange and black/brown whoopie pies.

I always remember seeing a recipe for something like graveyard pie- in the coupon section of the Sunday paper. I think it is a pudding pie in a square tin with crumbled chocolate cookies (to look like dirt) and marshmellows for ghost, gummy worms... I am sure you can do a Google search and get it.

Re: Does anyone have any cute Halloweem dessert ideas?
I am currently baking for my Halloween party at work so I've come up with a few ideas and found a few others. Pie pops are fun, easy, seasonal, and delicious. You can also cut them out with halloween cookie cutters, like pumpkins or ghosts. Check this guy out!

I'm currently making these Halloween pops from Bakerella. She uses cake pops for them, but since I had done cake truffles last year, I wanted to do cookie dough truffles.

And then the other idea I had was for simple cupcakes. I love jazzing up cupcakes with piped white chocolate designs. It's SO easy and makes such an impact. I start out with regular cupcakes and pipe icing on so it looks pretty. Then I melt chocolate in a plastic squeeze bottle (or put it into a piping bag once it's melted) and draw designs on wax paper. Pop 'em in the fridge for 10 minutes and stick 'em in your cupcakes. They look so cool and people love that the design is edible. I've done ghosts, bats, and spiderwebs for Halloween and it looks so cute.
These are the exact squeeze bottles I use:

And this is how the cupcakes come out:

Wow, thanks for the ideas!!! The pie pops are ADORABLE! I think I want to *try* to make those. Are they really easy... I failed miserably at cake pops and those were supposed to be easy, too. LOL

i dont know why i didnt take a picture of it, but i made a version of the sunflower cake, except i used halloween peeps instead (alternating pumpkin and ghosts). Very little effort but great impact!
here's the sunflower cake so you get the idea:

They're not bad! Honestly, the hardest part is getting them dipped evenly. I always have a hard time if I'm using real chocolate chips. I usually use the Make n' Mold wafers now and it melts much more easily and evenly and coats it much nicer. Otherwise, I find the chocolate sometimes gets thick and breaks the cake pop. If your chocolate is thick, don't heat it more. Heating it does not thin it out. Mix in a little vegetable oil until you get the smooth consistency that you want. The ghosts and mummies and pumpkins are really easy!
ETA: And wow, I just realized you asked about pie pops, not cake pops.
The pie pops were SOOOOOOOO easy. They were probably the easiest thing I've done! And you don't have to put them on a stick if you don't have them. They are even cute as just little mini pies!
ETAA: They are even EASIER when you use pillsbury's pre-made pie crust. I didn't even need a rolling pin, really!

Thanks for all the suggestions... I am going to attempt making Pumpkin Pie Pops in the shape of pumpkins. How soon do you think I can make them for a Saturday party?

You can make them tomorrow and they'll still be good and fresh but they are so much better right out of the oven. I'm making mine tonight for Friday! I put mine in little individual lollipop baggies to keep them fresh.

Re: Does anyone have any cute Halloweem dessert ideas?
i just made these with the little boy i watch.. he actually made the lines for the web..... it was simple and cute... just reg box of chocolate cake, made cupcakes, and white icing...
use black gel and make spirals starting with a dot in middle and move in a circular movement until the outside rim of cupcake then we used a skewer to drag the dot at the middle and pull down to the end of the cupcake to make it look like a web... we put small black spiders on the top at the very end!
