Each year, do you buy more holiday decorations?
I have some stuff already, but it seems like this year has such cute stuff everywhere I look.
Do you buy more each year as you go along or what is your system?

I used to but I've stopped. We don't have any kids but I'm sure when we do we'll get additional decor.

Re: Each year, do you buy more holiday decorations?
I do. I don't really have a system, but since I do have a lot of stuff already, I try to buy sparingly.
I always accumulate new Christmas ornaments throughout the year and buy a few new during Christmas time. Once in awhile I buy new seasonal table linens (I do a lot of hosting). My husband buys me a new little house for my Christmas house collection each year.
I buy new seasonal things for outside, too, since those tend to not last as long.
Also, because I do a lot of hosting, some people bring me more holiday decor as gifts.
But there is onlly a certain amount of holiday decor I can fit in my home, so I try to buy thoughtfully and figure out if I really need it (instead of buying with reckless abandon).

we do but only because we recently started our collection, about 4 years ago.
i'm sure we will get to the point where we stop because we have too many but at this point, we only add a few per season

Re: Each year, do you buy more holiday decorations?
My DH is addicted to lights I have to make him step away from the lights displays at Lowe's. I will buy a few ornaments each year and that is really it. I really don't have any place to display holiday decorations in the house and I don't like clutter. I will swap my usual stuff and put out christmas stuff.

Re: Each year, do you buy more holiday decorations?
I don't.
I went through all of it. Kept only what I liked.
I am not buying more unless something is broken and needs replacement.
I do give DS 1 personalized Lenox ornament every year though.

Re: Each year, do you buy more holiday decorations?
It depends on the year. If we're tighter on money then we don't. My favorite thing to do is buy stuff right after the holidays on a big discount and keep it for the next year. We did that to buy our fake christmas tree, 6ft, pre-lit and it was marked down to $7! We've had it for almost 4 years now.

Unless I find something to be really one-of-a-kind, then not really.
One tradition we have is that if/when we travel throughout the year, we try to buy an ornament from each place we visit. This way, each year we add a memory to the tree.

Re: Each year, do you buy more holiday decorations?
I used to do my tree in a specific color theme every year, so I would go out and get pieces that would work.
I stopped doing that a while ago and have had the same color scheme/decorations for the last 3 or 4 years now.
I do, however, buy at least one new family ornament per year to add to the tree.
Now that we've moved out of our co-op and into a house, I'll definitely be getting new stuff to decorate the outside with. And probably more stuff for the inside as well. It's time for a change.

Yes..we have only been married a year and have so much stuff for all the holidays, but I always seem to want to get more new stuff. Especially when I go to the Christmas Tree Shoppe I go crazy.

Re: Each year, do you buy more holiday decorations?
I usually indulge myself with a few things each year. Last year I replaced most of our old stuff with new in honor of our first holiday season in the house.
This year I'll probably purge more and buy a few things that make me happy I just LOVE this time of year, so I can't help it.

Re: Each year, do you buy more holiday decorations?
Yes, we usually add 1-2 pieces a year. Just for Halloween and Christmas. I have a few Valentine's day and Easter decorations but I don't add each year.

no. Very rarely do I buy more decorations, only if it's something I love & it's not expensive. We already have a lot & I don't have space for any more!

We usually add a few things every year. When we first moved in together we got a lot from the dollar store so as it breaks we update.

Re: Each year, do you buy more holiday decorations?
I dont. I dont like the way my house looks when it is decorated for Xmas b/c I feel like it makes it cluttered looking so I dont want any add'l decorations!
