Gender ?

So I am not a very patient person, especially when it comes to this baby waiting stuff! Dh and I agreed that we would go for a gender u/s at 16 weeks but now I'm freaking out, what if they tell us the wrong sex?!

Any experience with this?

Many people find out at 16 weeks but I would wait the 4 weeks till the Level 2 appointment personally. I believe they suggest doing one at impact closer to 28 weeks because you can really get a feel for what the baby looks like. We had one around 30 weeks for my first son.

Did you take the Intelligender test? It's not 100% accurate but it's a fun test to take.

As a BTDT mom, who did a 3D sono... I would wait.

I know you want to find out gender (I didn't with my first pregnancy and did with this one), but IMO, I think those 3rd party sono places are too expensive to not get great shots of the baby. Also, I am NOT a patient person, AT ALL

I think you will enjoy the experience much more when you are in your third tri, and you can really see more of what the baby will look like when born. At that point, the anticipation will be killing you!

If you are dead set on getting it done, my tech told me boy at 12 weeks, and it was confirmed with CVS and my 20 week sono. I think if it's a boy in particular, it will be fairly obvious.

Even on a Level 2, they can be wrong! So at 16 weeks, the chances are still there to be wrong! The only true way for 100% is CVS or amnio, which I am not advocating for a gender reveal I knew 100% at 12 weeks because of the CVS testing. I understand the needing to know! It's torture to wait!

I would wait to find out the gender until your level II. I had a amnio done at 17 weeks and during the sono I asked about gender and she told me it looks like a girl. A week later I get the amnio results and it is a boy. At 20 weeks for my level 2 it was clearly a boy.

It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster because I felt like it was a boy and then had to switch gears when I was told girl only to go back to a boy a week later. I wish the sono tech had just said I don;t know if it wasn't clear.

I was told with both my children the sex at 16 weeks. It was later confirmed at the level 2 sono's. But i didnt announce the sex until my level 2 just in case the dr was incorrect.

Thanks girls, I've been looking at boy/girl sonograms all day!! LOL

I'm going to keep the appt. for now and cancel it depending on how we feel.
