Labor and delivery question

As it is getting closer to my due date I am becoming more anxious about the actual labor and delivery. I am most nervous about actually pushing my LO out Lately I am starting to get nervous about getting an epidural, anybody else in the same boat?

I am a BTDT mom and I am STILL nervous lol. With DS #1 last year I was induced and ended up having an emergency c-section. This time I am trying for a VBAC and I am terrified of pushing and what not. I know what to expect with a section and it wasn't really that bad but with the pushing and vaginal delivery, I don't know what to expect. My sisters' epi worked 100% and she said that when the head comes out you feel "the ring of fire" lol that sentence alone scared me SO much.

I'm deathly afraid of needles.. and until 2 weeks ago, my baby was breech so I would have needed a C with all the works. Anyway, baby flipped so I can "try" and hope a vaginal birth.. and the way I see it.. either I will be so much ***** pain, that I'll chalk up the needle to my spine for some relief or it won't be as bad that I will need pain medication.. so no needle we shall see

Im a btdt mom. Honestly the first time around I wasnt nervous. I just knew i wanted that baby to come out one way or another (the end of my pregnancy was the pits). I ended up with a c section.


Now with this baby im having a scheduled c section and Im absolutely terrified because i know what to expect. I know its crazy

I am afraid of needles too. How did you handle them taking blood from you at ob visits?? I am nervous for my first appt tomorrow!!!

I am scared to death and I experienced it before. Last time I wasn't as nervous as this time.

Yea I think its mostly the fear of the unknown....not knowing what to expect makes my mind wander and I start to think of all these "what if" scenarios.

I've been starting to think about this... A LOT. I guess it hit me that this kid HAS to come out on way or the other. What many of my BTDT friends have told me is that by the end of the third trimester you are so uncomfortable that you just want the baby out lol. So I don't worry about the "how" anymore and just think that it'll happen how its supposed to.

I agree with you that I think it is a fear of the unknown. I'm pretty much relaxed about it, but I am a planner by nature and not knowing is the worst. Especially the when! I'm ready, come out come out!!!!
