Cabinets- best place to go

I am looking to re-do my kitchen cabinets and counter tops . Where is a good place to go that has reasonable prices?

I went to Think Kitchen in Huntington, a place in Hauppauge (can't remember their name but they always had have an ad in newsday), Alure, a vendor on here, Consumers and HD. I ended up going with HD because they were within my budget. First determine what your budget is than go looking. Most places I went to could not price me cabinets within my budget and steered me towards the Chinese cabinets. If I had more time I could have found cheaper counters and went custom but it was not meant to be.

I priced mine at HD and Consumers. Consumers was about half the price then HD and came with more upgrades.

I ended up with Kraftmaid and love them.

cabinets direct in bayshore. very reasonable, once you accept you are dealing with a family business.

Not sure if you are looking for custom, but my dad is a vendor on here- Dynamic Kitchens & Furniture. He manufacturers the cabinets to your exact specifications in his factory in copiague.

All the colors/stains are hand mixed so there are no limitations.

Oftentimes, his pricing is the same or better than comparable quality cabinets in the big box stores.

I went to Consumers twice when I renovated my 2 kitchens. I got Krafmaid for both and love them.

I priced out cabinets at a few different places.

I would do custom if you could swing it price wise. A good custom place has quality that cannot be beat in my opinion.

I - unfortunately - could not afford it. We did HD for cabinets and counters. They are solid quality and we had no challenges dealing with them. When we uncovered a minor error - they corrected it without any issues. We changed counter color and edge about 4 times with no problem. When pricing make sure that you are comparing apples to apples though. In other words 3/4" all plywood construction with raised panels and full overlay is NOT the same as 1/2" plywood, recessed panels with partial overlay. Know what you want and price from there. And remember - the upgrades get expensive so you really need to know what is important to you when you are pricing.
