I have pet issues...

We live with FIL and he has a cat and a dog (they were MIL's before she passed a few yrs ago).
FIL loves the dog more than anything but the dog is in his last yr, I think.
The dog poops in the living room daily and sometimes FIL is busy on his computer to notice right away. I am completely repulsed by it and literally gag if it happens in front of me. I want nothing to do with either animal at this point. The cat makes his mess in the basement. The vet has actually told DH I should not be around animal feces. Most of the day I'm confined to the second floor where DH and my bedroom is. Luckily we have a bathroom upstairs. I am seriously considering getting a mini fridge and maybe microwave so I can get to some food.
I know there is nothing I can do but I dont want to complain to DH anymore.

ETA: I dont know how I will manage once our baby is born.

can your DH speak with your FIL about it? Tell him its serious business and you really can't be in unsanitary conditions especially animal poop. I'm sure he knows once the baby comes around, the house cannot be a mess and will make a more conscious effort to walk the dog..

Thanks, Im stuck between a rock and a hard place. FIL walks the dog right after he poops
He's pretty good about cleaning up after the dog. It's just that sometimes he's not around when it happens.
Ive actually told DH not to talk to his dad bc DH tends to get aggravated with him and I don't want any conflict.
Sadly, it's just a waiting game at this point. I have been avoiding the first floor during the weekends.

ETA: At this very moment there is a "package" sitting in the livingroom.

I know it's not his responsibility, but can DH walk the dog when he's around? Maybe FIL will get the hint and start being more proactive, then again maybe he won't. At least it would help alleviate the problem in the mean time.

Sorry you're going through this. I know it would make me miserable.
