supersticious

Am I being silly? I do not want any of my shower gifts to come back to my house after the shower. My mother in law has offered her spare room to hold everything until we need it (she lives close by). As time gets closer, I will start to go through everything and wash clothes, etc. but for now, I am terrified to have it in my house.
Does anyone else feel this way? Or am I a rare nut?

I'm not totally superstitious, but my mom is because of her jewish traditions. i did not have a shower and the majority of baby gifts that i did get are at my moms and some are in my garage. we have only 2 or 3 things actually in my house! so i do understand

i was the same way... but then at around 31 weeks i freaked out that i had nothing in the house- so i bought some diapers, wipes, baby detergent stuff like that to have - it made me feel better. i still have some stuff at my parents that i will pick up in a week or 2 - i am 33 weeks and my shower isn't until i am 36 weeks by then i will be fine with having the stuff in the house.

I just had my shower last weekend at 31w. I thought about not bringing the stuff home but ultimatly decided to keep it home. My mom is RIDICULOUSLy superstitious so I was surprised that she didnt object to it, when my bro and SIL had their first she insisted that the sstuff from the shower stay at my SIL's mother's house where theshower was held.

I'm torn between my excitement and my superstitions. Part of me wants to register but the rest of me is too chicken. I'm trying to ease up on my superstitions but it's hard. I'm hoping after the anatomy scan I will feel a little better about it.

me and my family are superstitious! i am not having a baby shower bc of the superstitions!
