Going to acupuncture...
this afternoon for the first time...I dont know what to expect so I hope it doesnt hurt...I know the needle is tiny but I really dont like needles so I hope it helps with the cyst or even just regulating my cycles.

Good luck, and try to relax!!! It's really not as bad as you think it will be. That's my favorite appointment, I get the most restful sleep (with 20+ needles sticking out of me  ).

It doesn't hurt at all. While I am waiting listening to soothing music I fall into this weird half sleeping, half dreaming state. Also like a meditation which I don't even know how to do lol.
It's like I could have been laying there for 5 minutes or 5 days I have no idea.
It's very calming.

I only pay my copay for every visit. My insurance (United Healthcare) only covers it if it's performed by a medical doctor, so I see Dr. Li who has an MD from China and a PhD here. He has offices in Huntington, Smithtown and Flushing (but he doesn't go to Flushing ,the other doctor is there).
ETA: they have a list of what insurances they take on their website, and what the plans could possibly cover. If you call them I believe they will check your coverage for you.
