OK, So I'm totally NOT a crafty person AT ALL but figured if I ordered the fabric I could get a friend to help.

I'm thinking of making my own valances to match the bedskirt of the bedding set. I'm trying to figure out how many yards of fabric I would need to order. When I had the crib set made I was told that the valances would be $80 and I cheaped out (ok, I'm regreting that now!).

Basically the windows are about 41 inches wide so I'm supposed to double that amount....and for a valance it's about 16 inches for the length (plus a few inches for the hem, pocket for the rod, etc.).

The fabric is sold in yards that are 55" wide.

I need to make 2 valances. HELP!
