Anyone in Fairfield County CT?

Talk to me. DH just accepted a job in Stamford.


We will be renting first, so where are some nice areas? How do you like it?

Are you looking to live in an apt in Stamford or more in the burbs?

I work in Stamford and live in Greenwich. We are renting in a community of townhouses there and we really like it, they are duplex apartments and they are pretty big. Its about a 6 mile commute to Stamford. People I work with generally live in Norwalk, Greenwich, Stamford and even Fairfield (but I know they run into a lot of traffic going to the office from Fairfield). I can give you more information about the community I live in if you are interested.

I just moved to North Stamford!

So far, I love it there. it's like we live in the country, but close enough to a downtown area and stores, etc.

I work in Manhattan.

im in stamford and i love it. i moved here in 2002 and after getting engaged, dh followed in 2005.

right now we live in the springdale section but we are about to sell our house (fingers crossed) and we would like to move to shippan (near the water), north stamford or westover (greenwich border).

FFLD county is great- and very up and coming. The shopping is not like LI- never will be- but it is getting a lot better .

In stamford we now have a great mall, fairway, homegoods, marshalls, beaches, TONS of fabulous restaurants, hair/nail tanning salons, doctors, kids stuff and lots of culture - not to mention- less traffic than LI.

Other great areas to love are greenwich darien and new canaan- but very, very expensive.

If i were you id rent in stamford- downtown - and then explore and see what you like.

There are a lot of housing bargains now..so its a great time to start looking for a house.

My friend from college lives in Fairfield, she grew up there. The schools are great and it is a beautiful town.

Thought I'd give a quick update to this.

We found a rental house up in Stratford. Deal was too good to pass up. We were having trouble finding a property in Stamford that fit our needs. We looked into living downtown but with two young kids, we didn't want to do another apartment.

Eventually, when we're ready to buy we will look into Stamford a bit more.

Moving day is set for next week!
