Chobani greek yogurt going bad before expiration
Last week two of the greek yogurts (Chobani) had mold on them when I opened them. The expiration date was Oct 23. I had put them in the fridge as soon as I had gotten home and kept them in there.
Over the weekend when I went to stop and shop I complained and they gave me my money back.
This week the same thing happened! I just opened my greek yogurt and there was mold on it (with a 10/23 expiration).
Does this happen to anyone else? Do you think its the store or the brand? Should I try a different brand? It's so frustrating!

I haven't had that happen with yogurt but it has happened with other food items.
Not sure what the heck is going on but I find myself returning a lot more items recently, and it's not just one partiular store.

I buy Chobani regularly, and luckily haven't had this happen, so I wouldn't blame the brand. It is more likely the store or the distributor.
I know how frustrating it is though! A few months back I had the same issue everytime I bought cottage cheese from a particular grocery store.

Call the company and ask them what they think. They will also probably send you an apology and some replacement coupons.

I would def do this, most companies at least send some free coupons.
We eat probably 8 chobanis a week between DH and I and we have never had this happen.
It could be improper refrigeration at the store - the yogurts in the back not stored cold enough. It could have also been the delivery truck or something too. I just don't think its the brand since no one else has seemed to have a problem.
Occasionally at Stop and Shop I see some discarded refridge item - meat, yogurt, milk, etc. just discarded on a random shelf or at the checkout - i.e. someone changed their mind and didn't purchase. I always wonder if these things just get restocked or tossed.

This has happened to me also! I'd say at least 4 times. I never complained to the store b/c i never have time or remember.
Dh thought that when being delivered sometimes things can sit unrefrigerated and that may be the culprit. Stop and shop is where we get them!
Sat i bought trader joe's greek and its cheaper. Im going there from now on

Never to me, but 2 times with my friend at work during our lunch together! Her's were also before the expiration date. Not sure what store she bought them at. Yuck! That's annoying

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm going to call the company. I had always bought my greek yogurt from S&S with no problems, but maybe I'll stick to another store for awhile.
