Could I be losing my mucus plug?
I'm 37 weeks today. I had an internal last week and there was no progress. Another internal yesterday and I was a fingertip dilated but my cervix is still long. Yesterday's Dr was pretty aggressive with the internal and I had a good bit of bleeding during the day which cleared up overnight.
I just went to the bathroom and I am spotting brown again and there was a big glob of mucus and blood mixed in. Do you think I should call the Dr or is it just left over from yesterday's exam? I'm at work in Manhattan and tomorrow is my last day so I'm panicking that this could be starting already!

hmm, by you saying mucus with blood mixed in sounds like it!
something could be starting, but also not. No way to know for sure, but just be prepared.

Definitely sounds like mucus plug!! Globs of mucus aren't really common toward the end unless it's pieces of your MP. I wouldn't say it warrants a call to your doc though. If any contractions start up soon though, I'd definitely call!!

Sounds like you are losing it. BUT you still may not go into labor for sometime. I hope you do though

I spoke to the Dr who did yesterday's internal and he's not concerned. He said his exam yesterday probably loosened some from the opening of my cervix but my cervix is so long still that he doesn't think it will happen for quite some time.
I'm relieved - I have so much still to do but this has really put a fire under me now.

I lost my mucus plug 8 days before delivering my  . I had an internal two days after I lost it and the OB confirmed that it was gone. So, while it can mean something is happening, it also can still take a while.
