Lively bar/restaurant?
I haven't seen my friend in a long time and she's going through a really tough time right now. I wanted to take her out for dinner and drinks and a dance party. Dancing like a drunken fool always makes us both feel better. Anyway, she'll be coming from Nassau and I'm in Queens. Any fun places to go either in Queens or Manhattan? Preferably not a college crowd since they make me feel old and cramped.

Re: Lively bar/restaurant?
there are some bar/clubs in astoria that are still decent.
i dont remember the name, but there are a bunch of bars on the UES that usually draw a dance crowd
there is also some spots in LI. not sure if you want to venture out that way.
my friend's friend is also a latin dance teacher and he has social functions on mon and thursday nights (and some saturdays). quick dance lesson, then just dancing and drinkin the rest of the night. he has been doin this a few years and has gained a pretty good following, so the crowds are good. lemme know if you want more info

I know there was a good one in Astoria, but I can't think of the name of it and I don't even know if it's still around. I know exactly what you're talking about with the dance lessons and I would love that, but my friend would probably ! I used to do that with the people I took salsa classes with!
