Re: Question of the Day 10/10/11

I'll start!

My favorite meal has to be a good, slow cooked pot roast! If you have the hours to let it go (for me meaning I remembered to get it going on time) there is not better meal, especially with fall weather!

Re: Question of the Day 10/10/11

How can I pick just one?!?!

I love my red sauce... (DH calls it gravy) when I make it with home made turkey meatballs and sausage and some times ribs or chicken and it simmers for hours and hours.. the smell is so comforting!

When I'm in a lighter mood... I love my Linguini and white clam sauce or my Sole with artichokes and capers.

I guess my mom's meat stuffing. She only makes it for thanksgiving. I eat a little piece of turkey b/c you have too but most of my plate is filled w/ meat stuffing.

Not sure of the recipe yet - I have to learn.

Its chop meat, garlic, celery, breakfast sausage (beef) and turkey drippings.

Depends on my mood!

But I LOVE a nice bowl of pasta with an ALL DAY SUNDAY bolognese and a dollop of mascarpone on top.

Re: Question of the Day 10/10/11

Hmmm....tough one. It depends on my mood.

I love:
-Crockpot Beef Stew over egg noodles

-Roasted chicken with gravy, mashed potatoes and corn

-A specific dinner at the Lindencrest Diner in Lindenhurst- marinated chicken, artichokes, tomatoes and feta cheese over rice- they put it under the broiler so the cheese starts to melt- it's AMAZING!!!

Of course- if you asked this again tomorrow, my answer might change Chat Icon

Re: Question of the Day 10/10/11

There is absolutely no meal that I can eat all the time without getting completely sick of it.

But right now I've been craving a perfect medium rare steak with a nice seasoned sear on the outside. Match that with some late summer sweet corn that has been roasted and slathered in butter or a tender, fluffy baked sweet potato and some roasted brussel sprouts seasoned simply with some salt and pepper.. mmm.. If you serve it with a big glass of red wine - a nice rich merlot that has some weight on your tongue.. I'd be pretty happy.

ABSOLUTELY THIS!

I season the pernil (pork shoulder) the night before.
I make a rub with sazon, adobo, fresh mashed garlic, oregano, salt. then I poke deep holes into the pernil and stuff them with the rub, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the pernil and rub the rest of the seasoning on top. Refrigerate overnight and start cooking it early at 350 degrees for about 8 hours depending on the size.

You can smell the goodness from outside Chat Icon
