toasting Pumpkin seeds of slightly mushy pumpkins?

Is it ok to toast and eat the seeds of some of my pumpkins that have started to get soft on the top? The middle and the base of the pumpkins are still firm.

Absolutely! It's the same are cutting away the browning part of an apple or potato; the item is over ripe, it's not tainted or anything. If it was full on mush that'd be a little different, but not if its just starting to get soft. Especially this season! they're all starting off a little soft!
