Dr. Braverman
Hi Ladies...I am switching to Dr. Braverman after 3 years with another office, and I was surprised to learn he does not do his own IVF retrievals or transfers. I have heard nothing but great things about him, but this makes me very nervous. Can anybody please tell me your exprience with the doctor he uses and if this is something I should worry about or not? I am told it is Dr. Zeitoun in Gramercy Park...It's been a long road for me and my insurance is maxed out, so I afford to take any chances. Thanks so much ladies

Re: Dr. Braverman
I had my transfer last week at Gramercy. My experience there was okay, but I have nothing to compare it to, as it was my first round of IVF. The nurses were very nice, as was the embryologist. My embryos did very well there! As far as Dr. Zeitoun, I have to say that I didn't even know his name until now. He never introduced himself to me before my retrieval or transfer. He was nice when he checked on me in recovery after retrieval. Overall, my experience there was fine. Nothing to rave about, but no major complaints either. However, the biggest positive I can give you is that I got a BFP, so they're doing something right!

I had a very good experience, except that I didn't get pregnant.. although that wasn't the lab's fault. The dr who did my ER and ET were two different people. Dr.Rabin did my ER and I got great results between him an the embryologist.

For all I know, Dr. Rabin did mine too...like I said, I never got an intro. Actually, I think they were two different guys!

Dr.Rabin was a Jewish looking guy, I think he wore a yarmulke and he was very friendly! If you didn't get an intro, I have a feeling it was someone else who did yours.

Nope, definitely no yarmulke.
Sorry for the thread hijack! To the OP, I really don't think you have anything to worry about by going with Dr. B and Gramercy.

Re: Dr. Braverman
Thanks for your responses and congrats Jax on your BFP. That's wonderful! I figured the dr. at Gramercy must be fine since I never heard any complaints, but it's hard to put so much faith and $$ into somebody I know nothing about! I do trust Dr. B though and now I feel better hearing from somebody who actually got a BFP. Good luck!

Re: Dr. Braverman
I am currently with Dr. B. He has wonderful relationships with most of his patients. He has always been there for me, and do like him...I am just starting to get frustrated b/c I still do not have my BFP!!!
I had my IVF retrieval/transfer at Gramercy. I did like them. The staff was nice, but like the PP said could not tell you the name of the doc.
I did end up with a BFP from the place but unfortunatly had a MC at 8 weeks
Waiting on some test results so see the next step...but I would talk to Dr. B about your FM if you have any questions
Good luck to you!

Re: Dr. Braverman
Thanks Colleen. So sorry about your MC I know how devastating that is. I lost twins at 13 weeks 2 years ago after my 2nd IVF cycle and it's still so hard to talk about, but it's good that you are ready to go ahead with the next step. I had to take a long break after that.
Anyway, I figured the Dr. at Gramercy must be fine, since no complaints have been posted, but I just needed to double-check. Seems kind of strange to me to be letting a dr. I've never even met do something so important and when I'm unconscious no less! But if that's the way Dr. B's office works, I guess that's what I'll be doing - along with a lot of hoping and praying, as usual.
Good luck to you!

Re: Dr. Braverman
