Tell me about Los Angeles
So I believe we decided to go back to California next year for our anniversary
We're def. doing Yosemite again, but I think we're also going to stop by Los Angeles before we drive up to Yosemite, which means I now need help
Places to stay? Things to do? Where to eat?
Thanks!!

Re: Tell me about Los Angeles
We spent a day in LA two years ago and tried to pack in as much as possible.
We rented a car and saw:
Walk of Stars Rodeo Drive Venice Beach Farmers Market Marina Del Ray and we drove through Beverly Hills.
DH really wanted to go by the Staples Center but we didnt have enough time. If I went back I would definitely make sure to hit the Farmers Market again. You dont need much time at all on the walk of stars but it is fun. As for places to eat we didnt do enough research ahead of time but now when we go somewhere we check with FoodNetwork to see where their stars go from Best Thing I Ever Ate and compare it to where we'll be, that gets us sure good finds.
And make sure you get a donut from the donut place in the market, they were awesome!

Re: Tell me about Los Angeles
If you've got the time, go to Santa Monica and spend some time walking around the pier and the 3rd Street Promenade (pedestrian shopping area).

Re: Tell me about Los Angeles
DH & I were in LA just last week for a day ... we didn't have a car and stayed at the hollywood roosevelt on hollywood blvd ... cab from LAX was about $60 ... hotel was nice - expensive - and convenient ... we took a tour from star line tours - the grand city tour - and hit all of the highlights in 5.5 hrs (hollywood bowl, graumann's theater (right accross the street from hotel), farmer's market, rodeo drive, tar pits, olivera street, etc.) ... well worth the $$ for one day, if you're without a car ... there's a metro stop in the hollywood & highland complex across the street from the hotel which can get you around more (we took it to union station to catch the train to san diego) ...

Re: Tell me about Los Angeles
We did 2 days in LA and that was enough for me... We stayed at the Beverly Wilshire which was awesome, went to Disneyland, the La Brea tar pits, drove up to see the Hollywood sign and did some window shopping on Rodeo Drive. We went to Grauman's Theater and took pics with some celeb's stars on the walk of fame. And we had to stop at Randy's Donuts! We didn't go but Santa Monica pier is supposed to be a must see!

LA
Something you might want to consider is the Circle Bar B Ranch in Goleta (We stopped there after LA, so it's a bit north-ish). It was such a great place. We stayed in a little cabin and then went horse back riding through the mountains. They have a pool and a nice lodge where we ate meals. Here are some pics.

Re: Tell me about Los Angeles
i went twice. the first time i stayed about 40 minutes south on the beach, but spent a night in LA. we stayed at farmers daughter hotel. totally cute and "kitchy". its across from the farmers market and from the taping of THE PRICE IS RIGHT...which is why we went in the first place sadly bob barker did not call my name
second time we spent 3 days at the end of our honeymoon. we stayed at the renaissance hotel, its connected to the shopping/dining hollywood & highland complex. GREATTTTT location!!! just steps to the walk of fame and the chinese theater. when we were there we did a tour of the chinese theater, took a walk to the tar pits (did you see my girl 2? yeah, so i wanted to go), went to the farmers market, had drinks and food, etc...then the next full day we went to universal studios. there is a tour office right near the chinese theater and the r/t bus is free with ticket admission. so much fun!
i hope this helps
