Sperm count and abstinence?
Dh was tested a few months ago and all his numbers were only slightly below normal. Dr. requested he get retested to make sure. Well, we just got the test results and they came back really bad. I guess they never told him to clean out the pipes and he had abstained for like over a week. The dr said that could be the reason. Is this true. I mean if that is the case if we aren't  like every 3 days his levels will be low???

If he doesn't release every few days, the numbers go down. For the first iui day, hubby had a certain #, and we thought for sure that the following day it would be drastically lower. Not so.
So I asked the nurse, who told me that if there isnt a release, they dont regenerate as often. They recommend abstinence for 48 hrs. prior.
maybe bd 2 days before your procedure?

At the 2 RE offices I went to, for both IUIs and IVF, the REs always gave DH instructions before I triggered. My DH does have good numbers and they still gave us instructions. You could always ask your RE.

I believe it is best every 48 hours, or every other day, if counts are normal.

For the IUI and IVF 'donation' we were told that he should ejaculate at least no less than 2 days and no more than 4 days before donating his stuff. DH counts are average. HTH! Good luck.

So is it possible for his count, mobility, and morphology could have dropped so drastic from not cleaning out 48 hours before? Is this not a accurate reading?

That I am not to sure of. Try another SA, and then if the numbers are still off, I would recommend him gonig to see a Urologist.
