Handyman (cost question)

How much (per hour) should a handyman typically cost? Also, do you tip on top of that?
We need a few things done around the house and I want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off!

Thanks!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Handyman (cost question)

The handyman we use charges per job not per hour and gives an itemized estimate. I don't tip on top of what he does. He owns his own company. If you want his contact info let me know. I am pleased with his work.

Re: Handyman (cost question)

It certainly can't hurt to give me the info, thank you! I am still calling around now to get estimates.
How much does he charge per job? The first thing we need done is changing out our kitchen sink faucet. I have been told that it should only take about an hour so the hourly estimates should be the same as the per job estimate ;)

You might be able to change your sink faucet yourself. I changed mine last year and still feel so pleased that I did. It wasn't hard, it just took following the directions carefully.

Trust me, it wouldn't work out so well Chat Icon I know it isn't difficult and "technically" something I "can" do but I would SOO much rather pay someone to do it properly! Besides, it took me over 6 years to convince DH to change the faucet in the first place, if I messed it up, he wouldn't let me change another thing! Chat Icon
