Anyone done this, even minus the toddler?

Did you stop along the way anywhere to stretch your legs?

Agree. Not much to see, we stopped at a rest stop or two to move the legs.

I got a speeding ticket on the way back home. Be careful they patrol heavily.

I did bargain them down (over email LOL) to going thru a stop sign instead of speeding... but still.

Re: Driving from NY to Toronto!

We did this in July.
On the way up, we took the thruway to Niagara, spent 2 days there, then continued on to Toronto. We took a lot of rest stops along the Thruway. I think this is the quickest way to go.
On the way back down we decided to go a different way (which took a little longer). We went east from Toronto to the Thousand Islands Region, looked around there a little, then took I-81 South in NYS all the way to Binghamton, and then Rte 17 through Orange County back down to NYC. You drive through mostly farmland on 81, kinda boring.
