Gnocchi question
I have a recipe that I want to try tonight for "crispy" gnocchi - basically you just fry the gnocchi in a little oil until it gets brown (about 5 minutes) and then toss with sauce. I only have a bag of frozen gnocchi though - it says to keep frozen and boil for 8-10 minutes. The recipe is calling for fresh gnocchi though I guess. Do you think I should boil the frozen gnocchi for like 5 minutes and then fry it? Or thaw the gnocchi first and then use in the recipe?

Re: Gnocchi question
If you try to thaw them they will stick together, but I don't thank a recipe like that will work with them frozen. I would boil them first (maybe not for the full time tho)

Re: Gnocchi question
Thanks ladies, I kept them frozen, boiled for only 5 minutes, drained and then fried. OMG - sooooooo good.

Re: Gnocchi question
I do fried Gnocci all the time, my kids love it and they are like little tiny roast potatoes! Glad you liked it, Nigella Lawson has a recipe for this.
