Disney Cruiseline

Is there a site that you can get a better deal on this cruiseline as I researched the week I want to go and it is $7,000. Chat Icon
That is DOUBLE what RCCL offers.

Re: Disney Cruiseline

I don't think so, but i've never researched a disney cruise (no casino!) Chat Icon and i've heard it's always best anyway to book directly with the cruise line so you can get any price reductions, credits, upgrades, etc.

Why not do RCCL instead? I think the Allure has all the dreamworks characters and they do a parade every day and walk around the ship. It is expensive too but not near disney prices!

I know, I am not too happy without a casino either and I am not a big gambler-lol!!

I just thought we could try something different but not at those prices-lol!!

Thanks Chat Icon

Re: Disney Cruiseline

We had looked into doing the Disney Cruise for our honeymoon. Besides not having a casino it would have cost us $1500 extra. We went on Royal Caribbean instead and had a great time.

Re: Disney Cruiseline

Disney does not usually allow thier cruise line pricing to be discounted (accept maybe through AAA) by any of the mass-market cruise agencies or online sites.

Why you ask? First of all they don't have to. They have 3 ships (a 4th coming in 2012) and 2011 / 2012 are booked at very high levels. It's a simple case of supply and demand. Second reason is they run a superb cruise line. I've been fortunatel enough to sail with all the mass-market lines and for service and total experience, only Celebrity comes close. This is not to say you cannot have a great time on another cruise line, because you can. But if you're a Disney fan, nothing quite matches it.

Disney will discount itineraries that are not selling well. They may discount the fare, or offer something like "Kids Sail Free" promotions on such cruises, but I have never seen the price of a Disney cruise lower than that you can get from Disney directly.

That said, one thing the larger agencies / online sites can do is offer some type of special amenity that you won't get through Disney. The most popular of these are Onboard Credits (OBC's) which while very attractive, still do not lower the actual cruise fare.

Thanks so much for the info. I just wish they could make it more affordable for the "average" family. Chat Icon

Re: Disney Cruiseline

I totally understand and have many clients who struggle with this dilemma.

One key to getting the best deal is by booking as early as possible. Most cruise lines open booking 18 months in advance, and this (unless some sort of special promotion is released) is the best time to book. As time goes by and the sail date gets closer, fares will rise, even for the exact same cabin category.

Other than that it is just a matter of being aware of any promotions that are being offered, which seem to occur more for West Coast itineraries recently.

Hope that helps in some small way.

I also have used cruisecompete.com in the past AND was still able to get an adjustment when my cruise fare dropped. This was for my rccl cruise.

yes they do - not sure if they are on all the ships or just the newer ones. They have shrek, madagascar, etc.
