Just about any Mexican restaurant in old town.
If you are going to be near Oceanside on a Thursday, check out the Sunset Market, an outdoor Farmer's Market/featival that also has all kinds of hot food too

You need to go to Old Town, San Diego. Google it. Great place to walk around and shop and eat. Amazing mexican restaurants. Great place to walk around the explore. (sorry just saw someone else said the same thing).
Also, go to Seaport Village, google that too, cute place along the marina to walk around, shop and eat. I forget the name of the place, but there is a great restaurant there in the middle, sit up top and overlook the water, great seaford.
I like places where you can walk around and eat, shop, explore, and these are 2 of my favs in that region.
