Hi - I"m sorta new here...
I've posted under IF for sometime now, but I had to change my username due to stalkers. A little background on me:
We're TTC #2 - I've had 3mc and 5 failed IUI's, all in the past 2 years. We are now moving to IVF. Thursday is my last day of taking BC. I have all my med's (a little overwhelmed by them). I'm praying this works because I'm not sure if we can afford another round.
I'm sure once I start talking all the meds and getting monitored, I will have tons of questions for the BTDT ladies for IVF.
I wish everyone the best of luck and I'm praying we see tons of BFP on here.

Stalkers? On the IF board? Never heard of.
The IVF meds are overwhelming at first, but you should receive a calendar and it will be easy once you get the routine down. Lots of monitoring and you'll be ready to go in no time.
Lots of luck.

I know stalker on here...amazing
Calendar? Are you talking about the little booklet that comes with the gonal-f, or something else? I figured once I started doing the meds, I'd get the hang of it, but holy sh$t there is a crazy amount of them.

I'm not sure if your place does it but what she meant by a calendar was one you get from the dr's office that has all the drugs you'll be taking and when. It gets modified after each appointment.
This is how Dr.B's office does it.. perhaps yours is different.
Good luck getting started!! It's totally overwhelming at first but TOTALLY manageable once you're going through the process!!
Have you used injections for your IUIs?

Thanks for clarifying that for me . I guess I'll find out on Thursday when I go.
The only injection I did was the orvdril (spelling ) once. The only injectable I'm kinda worried about is the progestrone, for two reasons, that needle is freaken big and the second is that DH has to do that one.

I was VERY scared of the PIO and it was soooo much easier than I imagined it would be. Actually, after the first time my DH did it, I thought maybe he did it wrong because it didn't hurt like I was expecting it to. When I had to go for bloodwork to make sure I was absorbing the progesterone, I was afraid they would tell me I wasn't and that maybe we weren't using it right!! I was surprised by how easy it was after how much I built up in my mind that it was going to be really bad!!
I found the trick is to ice it really well and use a heating pad after. I think as long as you ice it well, you'll be fine! The heating pad is more for comfort the next day. If you don't use the heating pad, since it's an oil, it could form an itchy lump the next few days. Not fun!!

I asked for a smaller needle for the PIO they had sent me 1 & 1/2 and they changes them to 1 inch and it was so much better. Good luck!
