Bravelle vs Follistim
I have done 4 fresh and 2 frozen IVFs. From my 2nd I had DS. For all of my fresh cycles I have used menopur and follistim and have gotten around 10-12 at each retrieval. Now my dr wants me use menopur and Bravell(instead of follistim) for my next cycle. I'm a little worried about changing meds. Mostly because I overreacted when taking folllistim so I usually have a very low dose each time. I usually do 1 menopur and dial up either 25 or 50iu of follistim. If bravelle comes in vials of 75iu will the dr be able to lower my dose if needed. I'm worried he didn't think about this when ordering my meds. Did anyone ever take less than half a vial of bravelle?
Sorry if i'm babbling. I'm second guessing everything this cycle since I'm paying out of pocke t
Thanks for reading and for any help you can give!

Re: Bravelle vs Follistim
I never wound up doing half but it was going to be an option if my E2 level shot up like it did in my first IVF cycle (over 5,000). For my 2 IUIs and 1st IVF cycle I used follisitim - on the lowest dose possible. I am a very high responder even though I do not have PCOS. My body also responds to the slightest change in meds. For my 1st IVF cycle - on very low dose of Follistim - I had about 25 follicles retrieved and a very high E2 level. I was watched soooo closely during my 2nd cycle and used menopur and bravelle. I literally went to the RE office every day I was stimming and although they took blood and did sonos, my meds did not need to be adjusted. The combo of the 2 drugs kept my E2 level within a reasonable range. That cycle I had 14 eggs retrieved - which was the goal. I believe if you need to half the bravelle you just fill the syringe with half of the measured amount of meds. Bravelle is an FSH just like Follisitim. Menopur is an LH and FSH. Somehow the combo of the 2 meds words well. Wishing you lots of luck!!!

Re: Bravelle vs Follistim
Thank you for responding! I'm a high responder too. I'm a little less worried now.
