spinoff to dyson post....recommend vaccuum for wood floors
for some reason DH thinks that constantly using a vaccum on wood floors will damage the wood (b/c the vaccuum is heavy and may leave lines in the wood from the pressure). so he would rather sweep w a broom.
i cant stand this. so im usually pulling out the vaccuum when he isnt around. lol.
can anyone recommend a vacuum that is safe for wood floors and does a good job?
not sure if it matters, but we have real wood

I have this one that I use on the wood floors.. It's a 3 in 1 "multi-vac" there is no brush & I haven't seen any marks or scratches from it at all. I have one of those flat cloth sweeper things that I go over everything with afterwards too. I have a different vacuum that I use for the rugs (a heavier one that I already had, like you described)

I have the same one that I use on my laminate flooring-no issues with scratches.

Same here this is the best ever.
ETA: Wait til amazon has it again, usually it's on amazon for about $45.

I've never had a problem using my dyson on the hardwood floors (on the floor setting, not the carpet setting). Works amazing!
