How to answer questions from new co-workers

I start a new job tommorow. I am so excited for this opportunity. I'm embarrased to say, I'm nervous about meeting new people. (I had such wonderful support at my last job).

I know it's natural for ppl to ask me questions b/c they want to get to know me. I don't want to be rude and not answer or push them off. They will ask questions like, where do you live, how long have you been married? Do you have any kids? I feel so sensitive about this. I feel like some ppl jump to conclusions when they hear how long we've been married and have no children (yet!). I don't want to get into a conversation about this. It's happened before and it's so awkward. I KNOW this my own issue not theirs but I'd like to be prepared. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much!!!

If they question it, I would just say something like "We'll have kids eventually but for now we're really enjoying getting to do things just the two of us since that's time we won't get back for like 18 years" and just laugh it off......

We've also been married a long time so I know what you mean about that awkward moment. But I think you're right in saying that its our own issue and likely we're the only ones thinking about it.
Since you're starting a new job, if anyone asks, you can say something along the lines of we've been trying to advance in our careers.. or you've been so career focused that you put it on hold..
Honestly, I just say... none yet. and then I stay quiet. It's no ones business and they can think what they want.

People who do not know me well at work always ask me when are you going to have kids. I usually just respond by saying we are enjoying our time together now. Most people just accept the answer.
