folely bulb
Anyone have experience with this? Anyone know the pros and cons?
I was reading something that said it's a more natural way and good way to start labor instead of going with the Cervidil if your cervix isn't dilated/ripe.
Thoughts? TIA

I had this, in conjunction with pitocin. I stalled after maybe 5 cm, and they used the bulb. It worked I guess, and I progressed nicely to 7.
From 8-10 cm was VERY quick.

I had an epidural, so I didnt feel a thing. In my situation it was used to help me progress quicker.

Im sorry I can't tell you much about cervidil o was supposed to get it with my first but ended up needed a section.
A foley is normally inserted knto the bladder and a little balloon is filled with saline to hold it in place in thr bladder. But from what I gather they insert the foley into the vagina and inflate the balloon at the cervix to help open it and dilate. I have no idea if its painfull or not. So I'm not much help. ut here's a pic of through foley balloon. Image Attachment(s):

With DS #1 they used a foley and cervadil to dilate me. The foley was painful, when they put it in the first time it was painful but not incredibly horrible, however it was wrong and they had to do it again and when they did it the second time i was in horrible pain I started crying and wanted to go home...LOL. That was just my expereince with it though. The foley got me to 4cm's and then they started pitocin. I didn't progress after that and ended up having a c-section.

Same for me. They tried to get it in and it was excruciating. I cried and begged to go home. They stopped trying and gave me the epi and then did it again. That time I felt nothing. It didn't work. I never got past 4cm and wound up with a c/s.
