When did you start to tell everyone?

I am 7wks tomorrow, we heard the heartbeat this week so when do you think it's safe to share our joy? There is alot of craziness in my life right now and I could use some joy!!! What do you think?

We told parents, siblings, and very close friends by 8wks. Then the world after my NT scan at 12wks.

With my , we were seeing my parents and siblings in person (we live out of state) at 11 weeks so we waited until them to tell them. After they knew, we waited another week or two, then started sharing. I had a m/c before that pregnancy so we were very cautious.

Last summer, I had another m/c at 8.5 weeks and nobody knew we were pregnant.

Then it took a long time to conceive again and we ended up sharing our journey with many friends as we needed the support while going through the fertility testing. So, this time, everyone close to us knew when were having the blood test so we told them. It was strange for me to have people knowing at 4 weeks and scary too. But, now at 8.5 weeks with all going well, I'm glad they know. Although, I never got to tell them in an exciting/happy way because I was so nervous I pre-empted the news with "it's really early and I'm very nervous but...." I kind of wish I could tell people and get happy reactions now. We will wait until 12+ weeks to tell anyone else.

We always just tell whenever. Honestly if something bad is to happen it is nice to have support of your family and friends. I've never really gotten the whole waiting thing.

Both times we told my immediate family right away 6-7 weeks. Then I told my close friends and at 12 -13 weeks we told my dh's family and everyone else.
Do what you're comfortable with. For me I only wanted to tell those I'm close with early on, I just didn't feel a need to tell everyone else that early.

With DS, we didn't start telling people until the NT scan - we told our parents a day or two before.

With DC 2 - we told our parents early on because they are around a lot more because of DS and it was harder to avoid them lol. I told a few friends, the rest of the family and my boss around 8-9 weeks. We started telling everyone else after the NT scan. It was hard though because I am showing. I've been trying to dress baggy to hide it but, it doesn't always work!

We told our 3 BF's and my Sister after 8 weeks when we heard the heartbeat. We only told them because we were going away together for the weekend and i wasn't drinking so they would have guessed anyway.

We are telling our families and friends after our NT Scan. And we cannot wait.

We told our sisters as soon as we found out. We waited until Mothers day to tell our families (we were 8 weeks along).

We told closest friend around this time. I didn't announce on facebook until I was 18 weeks.

parents 7 weeks.. my brother 8 weeks (waited until his mid-terms were done) other family and close friends 12 to 14 weeks.. rest around 19 to 20 weeks. work was at 14.

eta: didn't announce on FB, or any social media.. just messaged close friends.
