open floor plans & chandeliers/ fixtures...
my entry-way and dining room flow into one another. each will have a different chandelier.
Is there a rule for open floor plans & fixtures?

Re: open floor plans & chandeliers/ fixtures...
same with my home. But my entry way is two stories high so it's not an issue.
I would imagine there is no rule. Are the ceilings the same height?
I'd get an arm chandelier for the DR and a huggy light for the entry way.
Like a ceiling light that doesn't hang too low in the same or a similar finish/style.

The dining room has a high ceiling.
I went with 2 similar-style chandeliers, but they are still different.
We shall see! only one is up so far.

I would get 2 different fixtures but keep them to the same style.
You just want things to flow not be to matchy matchy.
