Interviewing potential realtors for sale of house - any advice?
Besides commission rates, what are the important questions to ask? What has your realtor done that you were really happy about or, alternatively, not so thrilled with? I want to be as prepared as possible. Thank you!

You will want to ask about marketing. Also see how prepared the realtor is for your meeting. Can they answer questions about other homes that have sold in your area and that are currently available.

Definitely find out about their marketing plan -- what will they do beyond put your house on MLS? See if they can get it in writing.
How do they conduct open houses to ensure you attract the most buyers (how are they promoted) and that they can handle showings professionally and safeguard your house and belongings?
How often will they communicate with you and how? For example, will you get feedback after every showing? Will the realtor follow up with other agents who show the home?
Once you have an accepted offer, what services will your realtor provide? Will they be there for the home inspection, will they meet the appraiser with comps, will they be there for the final walk through? I am proactive about facilitating my clients' deals and am there from the beginning until closing, and beyond.
Where are you located? Let me know if you are interested in meeting and hearing how I work. I am a full-time realtor and also an attorney, which definitely helps when it comes to negotiating, dealing with the attorneys, etc.
Good luck!

Communication is vital! Our first realtor was AWFUL!!! Emails and phone calls would not be answered for days, he would show up late for open houses without calling, did not respect our wishes to get an update after each open house, etc etc.

Re: Interviewing potential realtors for sale of house - any advice?
while I think Kara's review of my services speaks for itself- I just wanted to add to the questions that you should ask
first- forget open houses- 1% of houses are sold from open houses- open houses are for realtors to get other buyers- I personally rarely do open houses unless the seller wants one- I prefer to do broker open houses- so the brokers can bring buyers for showings
houses are sold thru showings- so what is going to get the most showings
MARKETING
I do tons of internet, print and call capture marketing- I am creative and I think outside the box about what is going to get the most buyers
I would be happy to speak with you privately about listing your house and what me and my team can do for you!
