Gallbladder Issues and Pregnancy

Has anyone had any experience?

I woke up 2 nights ago from a sound sleep in excruciating epigastric (mid-upper stomach) pain. 2nd worst pain episode of my life. +nausea, no vomit or diarrhea. Last thing I ate before bed, peanutbutter ice cream. 7hrs later, I was able to sleep and stayed home from work to do so. I'm convinced that this was biliary colic. I just stuck it out and refused to go to the ER like DH wanted me to. I'm petrified that this will happen again.

Has anyone gone through this?

I haven't gone through your exact issue but I had severe gallbladder pain and almost needed it taken out right after my m/c. I did some research and apparently it's not uncommon to get a gallbladder attack caused by something in the pregnancy hormones. Chances are your dr won't do anything about it until after you give birth but I think it's a good idea to get a professional opinion on it.

I dont have any advice, just that I hope it doesnt happen again!!!

And if it does, go to the doctor!!!!!!!

Yes, yes and yes! I went through this for months while pregnant and had attacks after I delivered DS also. I can give you tons of info!

After my first attack, I did go to the ER and was told that if it happened again, they would take out my gallbladder right away. Well, then I had attack after attack after attack (probably like 20 or so over 8 months). In reality, they didn't want to take it out until after I delivered.

I could go on and on with my story, but I would be here for an hour writing it

You DO need to see a doctor and have a sono to confirm if you have stones. That really needs to be your first step. Where are you located? I can recommend an excellent doc!
