Sharing my Oil to Gas Conversion Quotes

I thought I would share the quotes we received for converting from oil to gas in case anyone is thinking about converting in the near future...FYI we also have a steam system so the prices may vary if you dont have a steam system...

These quotes include a new boiler, removal of existing boiler, new chimney liner, all permits and removal of the existing above grade 275 gal oil tank.

Burner King - $6,400
Comfort Solutions HVACR - $7,500
Abalene Plumbing & Heating, Inc. - $8,400
NH Ross - $8,500
Gramman Plumbing & Heating Corp. - $9,055
Esposito Plumbing - $11,115

We went with the burner king

Re: Sharing my Oil to Gas Conversion Quotes

It can take anywhere from 6-10 weeks from when you sign a contract and make a check out to national grid. National grid needs to get a permit from your town to open up the road to bring the gas line to your house.

Also I have been told that the rebates that national grid gives for boilers may run out...but who knows...I guess it depends on how many people are converting.

I hope that we have gas heat by Halloween.

Was the cost of having the gas lines run from the street to your house included in that? We want to convert, but we actually have gas coming to the house for our stove and dryer. I am curious how much $ that would save since it would just need to be extended.

Thank you so much for this!

We will be staying with oil for now in the new house and think about this maybe for next year. Good to know some estimates.
