Italy with kids/teens?
My mom and a bunch of family are planning a trip to Italy next summer.
They want to bring my son and teenage cousin. Some want to go to Tuscany, but I'm not sure what there is for the kids.
The kids really just want to go see Italy. They've never been. They are mature, but if Tuscany is just vineyards and food I'm not sure it is worth the money and time.
They think they want to see Rome, the Vatican, etc.

Re: Italy with kids/teens?
I don't have an experience with Tuscany, but o do have plenty if "touring" Europe experience. What I would suggest is a couple days in Tuscany after a couple busy days of touring. Everyone will be happy for a little down time. Use time at the vineyards to have a picnic and bring a ball so the kids can play. It gets overwhelming to be touring non stop. Down time is key to keeping everyone happy.

Re: Italy with kids/teens?
Depends where in Tuscany (there are 10 provinces), it's kind of like saying where should I go to in the state of NY lol, like LI, NYC, Albany...each place is so different.
If you go to Florence which is the capitol they will probably love it as there is lots to do; art, museums, cafes, food, shopping, street vendors, street artists, bars, walking to the top of the Duomo (amazing views!) and obviously more.
If you Pisa you can see the leaning tower of Pisa, but not all that much else.
Tuscany is known for it's beautiful landscape and is amazing, but my suggestion is to stick with Florence, especially with kids/teens!
ETA - If you're staying in Rome you can take the train to Florence, it is about 2-2.5 hours I think, definitely easy to do.
