Houston
Has anyone been to Houston before that can recommend any must do activities? I will be going at the end of the month to visit my cousin outside of Houston for a long weekend, so far things I have been looking up on google included NASA and some other museums, but wanted to get other ideas.. i would have loved to visit minute maid park, but the season ends the day before we get there!! oh well. TIA!

Re: Houston
favorite place ever I go at least 2-3 times a year, and I was born there..would move back in a heart beat
some of the more "touristy" things I've done...
NASA Aquarium Moody Gardens isn't far Tons of museums, although I haven't been to any in years
You must, must, must try bbq..it's out of this world Eat bluebell ice cream-nothing beats it
Do you like beer? I recently found 2 breweries there that I want to try
I haven't done the touristy thing there in so long, that the next time I'm there (not until April ) I really want to do a bunch of touristy things!

Thank you! Yes DH would totally be into the brewery tours, what are the names?? And what bbq restaurants do you recommend? My cousin lives in Kingwood but we will be renting a car and exploring around!!

Re: Houston
Breweries: Karbach and Saint Arnold
For bbq, I usually go to a place in Pearland, which is going to be a bit of a distance from you (up to an hour with houston traffic), but it's in a trailer right by my gma, and the best food i've ever had lol..not much help though
best idea would be to ask people at a store you go to while you're there..locals will know where to go in the vicinity

Re: Houston
Love The Flying Saucer Mmm pretzels and beer!
I got once a year for work but I'm there for a show, so there's no time for touristy stuff. I always make it to The Galleria!

Just wanted to update you, St. Arnold Brewery was awesome so if you get a chance definitely go! It was like, a giant tailgating party. Its $7 admission and you get a glass and 4 tokens to fill up your glass 4 times (although we purchased bigger glasses to get more beer!). I definitely see how you miss it though, if DH and I could find jobs there i'd definitely move there! (the amount of house you get for the price also is a good draw too!) Thanks for the advice!
