Question for those who saw an RE in the beginning of your pregnancy.

I went to see an RE last month because i had a whacky cycle...she told me she'd run some tests but that i needed to wait until AF showed. At that time, i asked the doctor if at any point i got pregnant on my own if she would monitor me in the beginning since i had a miscarriage in April. She agreed, since i told her my regular obgyn doesn't see patients until 9 weeks.
So now that i did just get pregnant on my own, I do want to go for some early sonos. When i call to make an app't, will the receptionist just tell me when to come in? If not, at how many weeks should I make my first app't. I want to be able to hear a heartbeat, and i'm not sure what week that happens at.
Any advice or help would be appreciated.

They may tell you to come in for and monitor your b/w for a bit and then have you come in for sonos starting at 5 weeks. That is what I went through.

My RE had me going weekly for BW and sonos until they released me at 8 weeks to my regular OB.

should i make the 9 week sono app't now with my regular obgyn? It's not easy to get an app't, so i wouldn't want to wait until i'm 8 weeks and released from RE to first make an app't.

i got pregnant on my own but had been seeing an RE prior to that. i went in right away to see the RE for a beta and they had me come back for a second beta to make sure my numbers were doubling. i had my first sono at 4weeks, 6 days. i was released after we saw the heartbeat. i waited to call my OB, only because i was switching doctors and needed a recommendation. i did find that the OB was very accomodating in getting me in around the 8-9 week mark. if you are that concerned, you can always call and make the appointment with the OB now and then see the RE until then.

It doesn't hurt to make your first prenatal appointment with your OB now, especially if you say it takes a while to get an appointment. Most OBs won't see you until 8 or 9 weeks anyway, this way you will have had some sonos and BW from your RE already and heard the heartbeat

I was under the care of an RE and got PG on my own. My RE gave me the choice of coming in to see her or to go to my OB. I went in for 2 blood tests to check my numbers and make sure they were doubling. then at about 6 weeks I went in for a sono and then was released to my OB.

I would just call the office. They will tell you what you should come in for and when. They will probably start with blood tests.

depends on the RE. most will monitor betas at least twice. if all is good in that department first sono is generally around 6w where you should see/hear the heartbeat (maybe not if its early and you arent 100% sure of your O date). then most REs see you once a week until they release you. i wasnt released until 11w, it would've been 10 but i was away and couldn't get an appt with my ob/gyn until later so he agree to see me for longer.

I got pregnant with this one naturally, but with DS it was IVF. As soon as I saw that positive on the pg test I called the RE because they wanted to check my numbers and put me on meds right away. I would call immediately.
