I'm trying to do all the research I can before shelling out $10-12K OOP.

I like my current office and can't even find them on the data, but whatever.

Did anyone go with a Dr based on the data? Do you think it matters much?

Im thinking in terms like, maybe if this center is 54% successful, I have a better chance of being in the 54 % than the 49%. Not sure if it makes a big diff but we are talking our life's savings here and I'd almost rather not do it at all than try and fail and lose our money. Its about a 50% on average--not that much really.Chat Icon Chat Icon

It was a factor in my decision when I switched. I looked at other things though like what people had to say about the practice and $$ (insurance for me since I have a lifetime max for coverage and fewer chances with a pricier doctor).

I think a difference of a few percentage points is nothing since the numbers fluctuate every year, but if a practice's IVF rates are coming in around 30% or lower for something that's supposed to be a 50/50 shot, that troubles me.

It's not on thereChat Icon

I just feel like I don't even want to do this at all. If it fails it will be devastating and will greatly impact our lives emotionally (obviously) but also financially. At least if we don't do it we just get the emotional impact which we already have been dealing with. Chat Icon

By us, we only have the option of 2 places. I looked at SARTS, but they were pretty evenly matched - so I went with who my OBGyn recommended.

My sister and I researched before we both decided on IVF. She got PG on her first cycle and I did nit have to cause I got PG the month before I was going to start.

i chose my RE based on LIF reviews and location then after i checked out SART data. i dont think the SART data would have changed my mind at this time but i can see it playing a major role if i needed to change because i wasnt getting results
