Cr@p!!! I am so frustrated right now!
DH has to go for another SA before we start IVF. We received all the paperwork for that and bloodwork while we were away in Aruba. I tried to schedule an appointment for DH last Tuesday, but the most convenient place for him to go in the city couldn't get him in until this Thursday at 8 am. I told him no for three days, but forgot that they also said no alcohol for 48-72 hours. Guess where DH is now? Out drinking with the guys! I remembered with only 36 hours to go until his appointment. Now I guess we'll have to reschedule it. It takes 4-5 business days to get the results. Sandra at Dr. B's office said that I can start stims without the results (I go to Dr. B on Friday), but I know we can't put off the test for another week. I'm so upset right now! As if starting IF wasn't stressful enough.... I'm also a little tipsy from a glass of wine, so I may be irrationally upset.

ugghhhh, I'm sorry!!! Go have another glass of wine and drown away your stress
Am I understanding this correctly that it might delay your start? I'd tell DH to stop drinking, puke it up and get his butt home (half kidding).

I never heard the no alcohol rule before. DH drinks at least a glass of wine every day and had normal results. Anyone know what's the reason behind that?

I'd say as long as he doesn't overdo it tonight, it should be fine! The SA for IVF isn't really THAT important. It's just for the embryologist to have an idea of what kind of sperm s/he's dealing with.
Don't sweat it!

Okay, I feel a little better. He had a drink and a half before I called him in a panic. They didn't tell us no alcohol last time, and his results were normal. This time around, he also had several drinks during the weekend at BBQs. The ones from Sunday won't count by then through, so hopefully it will be okay.
Thanks ladies...I needed to be calmed down!

I agree!! It's not "diagnostic" as though you are starting your journey and doing this for the first time. (I'm guessing he has had an SA before ) It's really a formality. I was actually required to show proof I had a pap within the year before my first fresh cycle!!

Dh has been for many SA and was never told to not drink. If it's not the sample you are going to use/freeze for the cycle than I really would not be concerned. It's more a formality to get the process started. GL!!

Ugh! They cant use an old one? DH got a script for one but they said to just send the one the OBGYN did last year. Dr. B never read that report, I just told him what the OBGYN said that it was ok so I'm thinking it wasn't that important.
