Lake George Visits after Hurricane Irene

me & DH were supposed to go to Lake George next week. we didn't book anything yet. however, we are concerned about any damage from Irene and any issues getting there. has anybody been there this past holiday weekend?

just trying to get feedback before we book anything. i know Vermont got hammered which is about an hour away from the lake...

Pretty much everything is cleaned up by now. The lake is fine - my BF's parents took their boat out this past weekend. The roads getting up there are all fine too.

The only thing I would caution is that after Labor Day most of the shops and restaurants start to close up for the season, so I'm not sure if much is still open at this point.

I just remembered that this weekend is Hot Rod weekend, so everything is actually still open.

Have fun - it's supposed to be a great weekend up there. My BF is going up (unfortunately I have to stay home with DS) and they're expecting good weather.
