Looks like IVF isn't too far away for us (long as usual ;))
well, after 3 failed IUI's (with injectables) we met with dr. b a couple of weeks ago to talk. he basically told us that as far as the IUI's go, we couldn't have asked for better cycles--i respond to the meds well, i make nice size follies, everything is perfect. except, i end up with a BFN. as far as he is concerned, the problem is all a result of me having only 1 tube. so, he thinks IVF is the next step.
i'm not surprised by this but definitely wish it wasn't true. i've been preggo once (a chemical) since my tube was removed last summer so i always had hope that i could still GET pregnant. i guess i was wrong. it's been nearly a year since that pregnancy
right now we're going to do another IUI this month mostly b/c i'm just not mentally ready to do an IVF and for some reason i'm SOOOOOO scared.
for girls who've done IVF after doing IUI's......how did you mentally make the jump? i'm so scared we will do IVF and it will be a BFN....then what? we only have enough insurance $$ for one round and i guess that's the part that makes me so scared.

Well I was kind of in the same boat as you. I actually did 5 cycles 1 times BD, 1 with just Femera and then 3 with injectables. After the 5th one, I was mentally ready to move on. I could not handle another BFN. DH and I have "no issues" on paper, its unexplained. It was so frustrating and I really just wanted a baby.
We we made the leap this summer. It was not much more difficult than the injectables. There are more and the retrieval did take a slight toll on me (cramps, bloating etc.) but right now I have great betas and my 6 wk sono is Wed
So its been the best decision ever. I was very overwhelmed in the beginning but posting on here really did get me through it. FM me with any questions. I will be happy to help

I, too, was only covered for one IVF cycle. I put so much pressure on myself, and that made me nervous too, because I thought the pressure would affect the outcome.
I'm still not out of the woods yet, and I'm still nervous, but I'll be 7 weeks pregnant tomorrow from my 1 IVF attempt.
Good luck to you!!!! You can do it, and this board is AMAZING for questions and support!

just wanted to say thanks ladies i really hope our one shot at IVF works for us. we probably aren't going to go that route until dec b/c i have time off from work then. DH is still holding out hope that this month's IUI will give us our BFP but i don't always share in his optimism. let's hope he's right though

it is scary! we are doing only one IUI this month and then if it doesnt work straight to IVF. i'm an anxious wreck every step of the way so far.....the only thing keeping me focused is knowing that i will have my baby one day and if this is what i have to do then i'll do it.
good luck with your last IUI!! hopefully you wont need to move on to IVF!

I'm right there with you. The fear of it failing is killing me most too (no coverage for us except maybe meds)

We actually started IVF this month after 3 years of TTC. It is scary, but knowing that this could be bring us one step closer to our LO is what motivates us. I hope it all works out for you.
