My evening in L&D at Good Sam

I'm 30 weeks and I spent about 5 hours in L&D last night. I started having what I thought were Braxton Hicks contractions on Tuesday night. I went to work on Wednesday and finally decided to call my doc in the afternoon. Which, btw, he yelled at me for. He told me I should have called immediately, even if it was 3am. God, I love him!

Anyway, I left work and went to L&D thinking they'd put me on a monitor for a half hour then I'd be on my way. Yea, not so much. I got the whole work up. Monitoring, IV fluids, FFN test, blood work, etc. I was in fact having very real contractions but it turned out I was just dehydrated. Once the fluids kicked in the contractions subsided.

So my advice to everyone - DRINK DRINK AND DRINK SOME MORE! Apparently it's extremely easy to become dehydrated.

One other thing I'll add is the nurses at Good Sam were amazing! They were all so sweet and attentive. They saw I was really nervous and really calmed my fears.

Glad to hear you're okay and they took good care of you. It's no joke when they say to drink LOTS of water. My Dr. recommends at least a gallon a day and I usually do more than that.

Phew, so glad it was nothing serious.

I had my son at Good Sam and had a really

wonderful experience(9yrs ago). It was

Thanksgiving

Day and the jokes from the nurses and Dr

were keeping a smile on my bloated face.

Good Luck! and Congratulations!
