Intro and a question about ovarian cysts

Hi all, I am 5 weeks, 2 days and an IF grad. I had my first sono yesterday and the doc saw a tiny sac and two cysts. One was smaller and fluid filled and one was huge and blood filled. I am experiencing a LOT of pain with this cyst. The doc couldnt really tell me how long it will take to go away.

Did anyone have large painful cyst and how long did it take to go away? Im so scared its going to burst and cause some more complications. He said it won't harm the baby, which is great news.
TIA

Do you know what kind of cyst it is? Dermoid? Functional?

Re: Intro and a question about ovarian cysts

Again...congrats Cate!!!!! WHoooohoooooo! I am still soooo excited and happy for you!!!

Ok, I have a large cyst right now. My RE said that it will mosy likely disappear in 3 months (not sure where that # comes from). I have been back for a second sono and it was already a lil smaller. It does amplify every pain I have in my abdomen though..I cant wait for it to be gone!

Hopefully after an IUI the cysts go away a lot faster than with IVF and are common when you take meds. My cycsts stayed around for quite awhile b/c of the pregnancy horomones. And yes, they can be very painful, especially when they shrink.
