Visiting Warwick on Friday - anyone have reviews on these places?
We're going up to Warwick, NY on friday since both BF and I have off work. We're just doing a day trip. We went last year at the end of September and stayed overnight. We loved it but the B&B we stayed out is no longer in business and honestly, we can't afford to stay overnight again right now (we're closing on a house in less than a month).
We'll be going to Warwick Valley Winery, Bellvale Creamery, and Och's Orchard. Any reviews on any of these places?
Also - can anyone recommend someplace nice for dinner in that area? Something romantic please and nothing too gourmet (BF is a pretty plain jane when it comes to food. his staple is chicken parm lol)

Be careful when it's dark, some of the roads are really chewed up from the storm.
Thank you...I didnt even think about the fact that the roads were probably still beat up. We'll be sure to be careful

Just so you know: I know someone who lives in Warwick, and she said that the town got hit pretty hard. I'd check into the places you're planning to go to and make sure they're open and running and such!
Have fun!

Thank you - I did check the winery, creamery, and orchard and they are all open. I didnt check any of the restaurants in the village though... I'll have to do that before tomorrow.

We're thinking of going to Warwick next month. Just wondering how your trip was?
We're thinking of staying at Anton's on the Lake.
Any recommendations of things to do and see?
What about restaurants in the area?
TIA

It was lovely. It's the second time we've been up there and we loved it both times!
We went to Warwick Valley Winery which was a lot of fun. I would suggest going on a weekday (even a friday) because on the weekends it gets really crowded. Their wine is just okay IMO but their hard ciders are great and the place is so nice and relaxing. Plus, they serve food and you can go apple picking.
I suggest staying away from Demarest Hill Winery. The wine was absolutely terrible, the owners weren't very helpful, they were kind of overpriced, and although the view was stunning, we sat out on the hill to overlook the view and we could hear shot guns going off VERY close to us because hunters were hunting in the woods right next to the vines. Overall, not worth the stop.
We went to Pennings Farm to do some more apple picking and shop at their country store. They have delicious fresh produce, cider donuts, baked pies, cookies, etc. And a small petting zoo for the kids.
Bellvale Creamery is a MUST. Oh.my.God. their ice cream was to die for. And the view is amazing! You can see over the entire valley while you eat your ice cream. Totally worth the trip. If you go in october they also have pumpkin picking and creamery tours for the kids.
For dinner we've eaten at the Dautaj, Trattatoria Viviana, and Fratellos. Teh Dautaj is cool because its in an old victorian house. The atmosphere is nice but I dont remember the food being outstanding. They did have a band though when we went, which was kind of nice but it was super loud and kind of ruined the "romanticness" of it. Trattatori Viviana is right in town, very cute place, and good italian food. We liked it a lot. Also really liked Fratellos, although its more casual then the other two. It was brick oven pizza and italian food. Good food and affordable prices.
Sorry this is so long...HTH!

We'll have to go to the creamery. My DH loves ice cream.
Thanks so much for the information
