I had a dream... what do you think?

Sometimes I get my best ideas for teaching in my dreams. Chat Icon Its true. Anyway, I had this idea, which I think may be great for us.

So in my dream my laundry room is a descent size. All the walls have shelving, like book shelves, but deeper. Instead of having to carry up all our clothes from the washer and dryer I just fold it there and put it into the cubby- sweaters here, jeans there etc. Theres also large mirrors, baskets for socks and panties etc. So organized LOL Then you can get dressed in that room so its like a dressing/laundry room LOL

Yes, Im LAZY! I mean who says you need your clothing in your room, or who says you need to get dressed in your room? I HATE putting laundry away. I may just do this. Chat Icon

Oh and then when my kids take off their PJs or whatever they dont have far to go to put it in the hamper, washing machine LOL (I know I am dreaming!)

A big dressing room! I think that's a pretty awesome idea!

I lived in one apt that had teeny tiny rooms and one of them had a built in closet that took up a quarter of the room. That became my closet room. I kept my dresser in there, the ironing board was always set up, there was some shelving for linens & towels. My bedroom only had my bed, tv and stereo. LOVED IT!!

Re: I had a dream... what do you think?

when my family lived in levittown we had this. in a spare bedroom on the main floor, my parents made a whole wall into a closet but it was open from floor to ceiling. we had a large dresser in there, hampers, a shoe tree, a long mirror, the ironing board, hair stuff and make up.
it was also the computer room.

love it! if my laundry wasn't in my basement i would do it!!

Re: I had a dream... what do you think?

I recently installed cabinets above my washer & dryer and lined each with baskets. In each basket I put:
- swimwear & swim diapers for each DS & beach towels
- extra set of clothes & socks for each DS
- suntan lotion, sunglasses and summer hats for mommy, daddy and DSs

In the winter I am going to do hats and gloves instead of the summer stuff.

I got SO tired of running up and down the stairs to their bedrooms every single time someone needed something or we were going out.

It has seriously saved me so much time. Highly recommend it!
