stupid question: Brownies & Marshmallows
I make a quadruple chocolate chip brownie. Its not really all THAT special – its just a triple chocolate recipe from the store adding in half a bag of Ghirardelli dark chocolate chips.
Generally I add a cup of walnuts if the parties involved are ok with nuts I’ll also occasionally add Macadamia nuts or white chocolate chips (depending on my mood)
Things I have NOT added:
Peanut butter chips (I guess I could try them) Marshmallows
Therein lies my question. Marshmallows. Can I just add a half cup (or more or is it less) and mix it into the batter? What will it do? Does it become a swirl when baked? Do I just put it on the top? Was thinking of using toasted marshmallow flavor (I’ve seen some) Putting a graham cracker down, brownie slice and a small scoop of ice cream for a semi-chilled s’more brownie sundae.
Oh, I should add, I double up the recipe and normally cooking time is 1hr. It rests for up to 24hrs before cutting with the least amount being at least an hour before cutting (which is usually way too gooey).
Can I make it a bar and add graham to the bottom? Put the marshmallow on top and just make it a s’more brownie?
TIA

Re: stupid question: Brownies & Marshmallows
if i remember correctly from the smores brownie recipe, DONT put the marshmallows on top when baking. It does something to the mix and causes them to not cook properly.

Re: stupid question: Brownies & Marshmallows
When I make s'mores brownies, I cover the bottom of the pan (square pan even though the mix is for the rectangular size pan), then I put graham crackers, chocolate (broken up candy bar or chips), and then I sprinkle marshmallows. I pour the remainder of the mix on top of that and bake until they're done....about 30-45 minutes. DELICIOUS!!

Seriously! I made them before the hurricane hit, and it might have been the smartest thing I've ever done. in my life.

I am so making these. Do the graham crackers have to be whole...is it okay if they are broken at all?

I put some in whole, and then break the rest up so they cover the whole area.
