i always did have the best timing....
So we live on the water on the North Fork. My DB and his family are 8/10 of a mile away. My parents live next door to us. Guess who the ONLY one home is right now?!?  this is so typical, lol.
Our basement floods easily in weather like we are expecting, the family boat is still in the water and all 3 houses have patio furniture etc... Outside! all 3 houses need to be weatherproofed and I'm not allowed to go in the water (i just called to confirm) or lift anything heavy (though I'm over the moon for the reason why   )
I told my family I'm restricted on a lot of what I can do, which they understand yet I still feel bad I can't help more. They don't know it worked yet bc we wanted some time to have a better idea if it did, after last time... DH won't be home til it's dark tonight. I just went for my beta then braved the grocery store. I won't risk climbing the ladder either so he'll have to clean all the gutters once he gets home. Poor DH.
Is the radio making anyone else nuts? I finally turned it off!

I'm definitely a bright side kind of girl!  I couldn't think of a better reason not to be able to help! <3 Walking on eggshells waiting for my beta!
It's just funny... this happened last year and DH and I weatherproofed all 3 houses then too (and today my family got texts from me telling them going forward they are to put their own stuff away before going on vacation b/c I refuse to anymore!!! ) and nothing ended up happening... wouldn't it be nice if we were that lucky again this year! From how they're talking I don't think that will be the case though....
