is this normal?

i had an appt this morning to get blood work done before my HSG on Monday and i also had a sono done to determine if i can start clomid BUT during the sono the tech had an extremely hard time finding my uterusChat Icon

once she found it she still couldnt really determine my lining...i told her i have endo so could that be the issue? she said maybe but she's never had this problem before....i've never had this issue when my ob/gyn did sonos. He always showed me my uterus and said it looked fine. When Dr. Brenner did my exam last week he didnt mention anything about my uterus.....he did have a hard time finding my left ovary but eventually he did.....should i be worried? it took 20 mins for her to complete the sono

Re: is this normal?

Not my uterus but they couldn't find my left ovary last week, and they killed me during the sono. My Dr said sometimes with ovaries they don't see them when they aren't stimulating, or there is fluid blocking a good image, not sure if that could be applied to the uterus.

the fact that this has never happened before makes me think that maybe she just doesnt have as much experience... or maybe your old Drs just knew that it was hard to find and knew where to look? idk... i wouldnt be worried unless it happens again

the experience was pretty uncomfortable...all the moving around. just glad that it wasnt painful. now i have to wait to hear from the nurse if i can start the meds. i guess if i get the okay then everything was good...?

I wouldn't worry. I had an HSG in July and the dr couldn't get the dye to flow up and said I had an odd shaped uterus. In all my years of going to the GYN, by RE treatments, a previous HSG and 9 months of OB visits, this was news to me. My RE had me repeat the the test with another dr and sure enough all was fine. I definitely think it was the experience of tech moreso than your uterus.

Re: is this normal?

If you're uncomfortable with her, next time just ask for someone else or ask for the RE to do it.

I've been going to the RE for so long, I can probably do the sono myself, measure my lining, count my follies, etc!
