Am I the only one who doesn't feel all Lovey dovey...LOOONG vent
towards DH for giving me this precious blessing? Instead, I find a new reason (or SEVERAL reasons) every day to want to drop kick him??
Yesterday, he calls me at work and says I must not have latched the baby gate closed because the dog got into the living room and destroyed a bunch of stuff and pooped and peed on the floor in there (we usually trap him in the kitchen/dining area because he doesn't behave). He said he cleaned it up- and I actually THANKED him. Why did I thank him?! Why shouldn't he clean it up?!!? He should take care of the damn dog that HE wanted and insisted on getting. The dog misbehaves because he doesn't get enough attention and exercise. I have half a mind to rehome the dog if DH doesn't start taking care of him correctly. But- I know I won't because I will be the bad guy.
I came home from work an hour later after stopping at the store for a few things for dinner. I felt like crap and DD was being very whiney and difficult (she comes to work with me every day). I walk in the house loaded down with grocery bags, DD and the backpack I use as a diaper bag. He doesn't offer to help with DD or take the bags
I go into the kitchen and the sink is still full of dirty dishes and the dishwasher is full of clean dishes. I set to work on those so I can make dinner. DH plays with DD for 5 minutes then starts playing on facebook. When I start dinner, he decides to take a 30 minute shower while DD is trying to climb on top of the table, pull the oven open and dump the dog's water dish.
We finish eating and he says "Mommy is going to clean you up and give you a bath while I clean up dinner." I just glared at him. Why can't he do both?!?
I took DD upstairs for a bath and to change her pajamas. I come downstairs to find him on facebook, the sink full of dishes again, the dishwasher not turned on and a half eaten bowl of ice cream on the ottoman.
I wanted to beat him.
Then, DD isn't feeling well and wakes up coughing at 10:30. She ends up gagging on phlegm and throws up in her crib. He takes off her PJ pants and brings her in our room. She still smells like vomit. I ask if he cleaned it up- "I took the sheet off the bed"
I had to argue with him to replace the sheet and wipe down the crib
DD was up every 45m-1hr last night coughing and gagging. DH just rolls over.
It's so easy for him.
And now there will be 2 kids to take care of.

You are not alone!!
Right now DH is on my sh*t list. He complains that the house is not clean to his standards......so why the hell don't he clean it to his standards!!!!!!!!!
I work full-time, I come home late, I make dinner, I clean the kitchen...we both give her a bath but I am the one waking up in the middle of the night while he is sleeping.
I try my best to clean on the weekends but he does not think I do anything. what does he do? except go on his stupid laptop and watch sports.
Don't get me started!

You are definitely not alone. I love DH, and I know he tries. But lately I feel very frustrated with him.
I am sorry your DH is ADDING to your already busy and stressful workload. He's supposed to be chipping in to make it easier on you. Vent away.

Instead of doing it- walk away so he has no choice.

I love this advice.
I don't live in your home, so I don't know details, but if you keep "helping" him, he's going to keep taking advantage.

ITA if you don't like what he's doing - tell him, don't just 'fix it' to your liking. Tell him to clean the dishes up instead of just doing it for him
its the only way he'll learn!

Your DH sounds like mine, I am pregnant with #4 and you think he would learn by now how to help or behave but no..men are so stupid. Can someone please tell me if I can raise my 3 boys to be different or is it in their DNA
