What does DH say about IF and meds?

Just curious what your DH's have to say about the whole IF process. We recently had a discussion about what the IVF road ahead would look like and DH was completely shocked by how involved it is.
Im convinced Im out this month and we've been discussing options since it will be our 3rd failed IUI (1st medicated) and we're both a little afraid of moving forward. He actually said maybe we should rethink it... Honestly, some days Im at the point where it's just too much and I want to say f* it! But I digress....
Anyway, what do your dh's have to say about all the meds your taking/doctor/er visits, etc?

Re: What does DH say about IF and meds?

What I have learned over the years w/ my DH is A) he is extremely supportive and B) less is more... I no longer bring him to every sonogram/bloodwork appointment, and he hasn't come to the last 2 or 3 failed cycle follow up consults either. I either go alone or bring my mom.
I think medicated IUIs are good in that they kind of ease you into the whole process, for both you and DH. In the beginning my DH gave me my subcu shots, now I give myself those and he only gives me the IM ones. Sometimes they need to step back--- it's extremely overwhelming in a different way.
I remember this board being such a HUGE support to me because I would say to him that I know approx X # women who are doing this, so why can't I? I NEVER would've gone thru w/ IVF... it was too foreign and too scary to me back in the day when I was told I had to move on from IUIs to IVF due to my PCOS and my dr not being able to control it... but I did b/c I saw all of these women who I know IRL and on here have the strength to do it, and it gave me the courage to try. Re: What does DH say about IF and meds?

I think what helped us was easing into the process gradually. I remember before my first IUI, my dh was opposed to doing IUI without trying timed intercourse first. I just wanted to go full force and increase our chances as much as possible. He did agree to IUI that first cycle and that was the cycle injects were added... the next cycle there were more meds.. and more the next.. Eventually when we moved on to IVF it didn't seem like it was this HUGE transition because we were eased into it already. By now its just second nature. We both don't think anything anymore of an injection.. or a belly turned purple compliments to lovenox Chat Icon It's just become a part of everyday life and we don't even notice the drugs, etc. anymore.

Thanks girls.. I def think that the IUI w meds will make the transition easier.. it's just still so scary.
I think of so many things like
maybe its not meant to be... i shouldnt mess with fate...
maybe the meds might to damage to my body in the long run...
i can go through it and it might not work
it might work and i might not stay pg
You girls are so brave...
Sometimes I just don't think Im made for this...
ugghhh.. vent over... thanks for listening
